Appearance
A massive ledger bound in pale cured skin, clamped shut with clasps carved from human rib bone. Its vellum leaves are crowded with cramped charcoal tallies and census stamps from root vaults. The spine is scorched with grey grave-cinders, and a faint chalky bone dust clings to the corners. Held open across both forearms by thick leather straps, the tome emits a faint, frigid grey haze as its weathered pages turn.
