Koravai sang the coral shoals of Taruvai, guiding fleets with chants the currents obeyed. When her cousin Nakrai went overboard in chains, she sang over the water for three days, and never says whether that song is why the drowned gave Nakrai back. When the Abyssal Leviathan rose and took villages as tribute, she sang a wall of water around the last, and Marai's fleet, breaking out through the storm, carried its people to the Skyroot. She sings currents through a large pearl of rippling sea water: bubbles that lift a foe, undertows that mend a friend, a surge that sweeps a line away. Her office is the Tides, held by Tharumbra, the beast that once carried drowning fleets ashore.
The tide always rises, no matter how tall their walls.

The swirling sphere lifts the trapped enemy high into the air, leaving them suspended and helpless above the battlefield.

Koravai is a slim, supple woman in her mid twenties with sea-brown skin, a round gentle face, large dark eyes and long wavy black hair streaked with sea green and braided with pearls and small cowrie shells. She wears the dress of a Taruvai tidecaller: a wrapped skirt and short top of sea-green and white cotton, a sheer pale blue shawl that ripples like water and bare feet with shell anklets.
