Appearance
An eight-inch oval link of heavy forged star-iron, thick as a wrist and crusted on one side with bubbled black furnace slag. Deep cold chisel gouges mark where it was severed from a chain gang collar, exposing dark grey metallic core beneath orange surface rust. Faint wisps of cold black smoke drift from the pitted iron. Looped through a stout leather belt ring or gripped firmly around a gauntleted fist, the heavy link clanks against armor.
