Lore
Flayed by Skaldhavn icefishers from the hide of Skaldfell frost worms. Its bitter chill recoils violently upon striking foes, freezing their sword arms and slowing their feet.
Appearance
A broad triangular plate of translucent glacial carapace measuring a foot across, tinted pale cyan. A permanent rime of needle-sharp ice crystals covers the exterior surface, which shows faint fracture lines from ancient impacts. Strapped over a shoulder or chest rig with oiled leather latches, the frosty scale exudes an intense freezing vapor that leaves frosted footprints.
