Lore

Quarried by deep miners in the Drowned Reach from abyssal magnetite. It binds the bearer to a chosen locus upon the earth, snapping them back across space whenever grievous wounds threaten their life.

Appearance

A palm-sized block of matte black lodestone bound in verdigris-stained bronze bands. Blunt iron staples anchor four short lengths of sea-rusted mooring chain that coil around the stone body. Deep nautical runes are chiselled into the damp face, weeping droplets of cold salt water. Clutched in one hand or hung from a thick baldric, the heavy stone hums with low gravitational tension, tugging subtly toward the earth with a blue phosphorescent sheen.
