An armoured collector in a rusted iron collar, with a Census ledger chained to its wrist. When a village falls behind on its grave tithe, the court sends Tithe Bailiffs to take the arrears in bodies. They wade in with jagged cleavers and wide, brutal sweeps that splinter shield walls, and the ledger goes on writing even after the bailiff falls.

Drilled to march in the silent parades of the Sunless Sovereign, the spectral grave knight honors an ancient martial oath that outlived the sun. Whenever it brings its notched longsword down upon a foe, the knight follows through with a heavy, disciplined horizontal rotation of its armored torso. Pale dusk-grey energy trails the sweeping blade in a wide, whistling arc, cleaving through adjacent warriors and shearing steel with cold, rhythmic precision.

The Tithe Bailiff is an undead human enforcer of the Barrow Census, standing eight feet tall with a hulking, muscular frame. It has a bruised grey-skinned head with dull sunken yellow eyes, its entire lower face bolted into a rusted iron jaw cage that secures a heavy iron collar around its throat. It wears a sleeveless butcher's apron of dark oil-stained leather over cracked iron shoulder plates and hobnailed boots. Around its left wrist is a heavy chain binding the iron-backed Census ledger that writes uncounted debts, while its right gauntlet grips a two-handed jagged iron cleaver used for wide, shield-shattering sweeps. Flakes of orange rust and cold tomb dust drift from its collar. Palette: rusted iron, leather brown, corpse grey.
