Monster
A feral grave scavenger that prowls the muddy trenches between the barrow mounds. Drawn by the smell of freshly turned earth and uncounted dead, it burrows beneath crumbling headstones to ambush passing warbands. Its filthy claws leave lingering wounds that bleed freely, dragging down any climber too slow to clear the root.

A ravenous scavenger shaped by the muddy trenches of the Hollow March, the gravelurk lives to tear into flesh left unclaimed by the barrow mounds. Whenever its long, mud-caked talons strike a climber, jagged black grime transfers directly into the open cut. The victim's torn skin seeps thick crimson blood that continuously pools upon the wet earth, sapping their stamina with every passing heartbeat.

Appearance
The gravelurk is a feral, dog-sized grave scavenger beast that prowls the muddy barrow trenches of the Hollow March. It has a hunched, low-slung quadrupedal body of emaciated build, a hairless grey snout with sunken milky eyes, and a wide jaw studded with needle teeth. Its mottled slate-grey hide is caked in grave mud, rotting peat, and peeling barrow moss, exposing jutting ribs and scabbed ridges. It fights with elongated forelegs ending in massive, hooked digging talons caked with black loam, designed to burrow under crumbling headstones and tear ragged, bleeding wounds into passing climbers. A faint, oily green sheen clings to the wet grime along its claws. Palette: slate grey, peat brown, moss green. Silhouette hook: a low-slung scavenger with long, curved foreclaws dragging through the sod.
